It's 2013! And time for me to share
one of the biggest life-changing moments
that really did happen to me in living
agonizing soul-searing color.
When last we chatted, I had told you
about the long and hard pole in the
zany and silly party van, and closed with:

...Anywhos! I forgot if that was the last
day or not, but I do vividly remember
going to sleep that evening and thinking
about the flight home - it would be calm,
enjoyable, restful, and a grand start to
my enhanced business.
And that was what happened.
Until 4:13am the next morning.
When the most unexpected disaster
befell upon me.

Ready?
Let me first set the stage. It was midmorning
(ie, 4:00am Las Vegas time).
I had just finished queuing up my emails....
And reviewing my travel schedule for the day...
When...
I.....
(at my desk, mind you)
Shifting my left foot under the desk.
Didn't even put any weight on it.
And...
I
heard
a
>click!<
and felt *something* within my ankle....
Weird.
So! I decided to push myself away from the
desk and stand up and realized I literally
could not do that...
Nor put any weight on it...at all.
Now, think for a minute, gentle reader.
1.) 3 hours from then I had to get to the airport
with my luggage.
2.) Forget the airport, I had to get to the hotel lobby
with my luggage.
3.) Forget the hotel lobby, I had to actually PACK
my luggage without being able to walk!
Well. I very quickly learned that even if I
couldn't walk, I could crawl, and so crawled
about my room, packing.
Then I took a deep breath and figured, okay,
let's see if I could hobble in ANY way....
and yes I could, but wow...each step was
agony. It *really* was.
Thus! At around 7am or so, there I was
in the hotel lobby (front desk clerks couldnt'
give me any aspirin, 'twas against the rules)
and luckily, Dennis Becker (who was on my
same flight) strolled by and asked me, how
are things?
I responded, "Peachy, and my ankle collapsed,
wheee!"
I'm never one for dramatics, see. :)
Anywhos! Dennis helped me bigtime thru
the airport and was a powerful rock of calmness/support
for me during this time....something I will NEVER forget.
